Kansas City is home to over 15,000 species of insects, only a very small percentage are considered "pests" or create health concerns.
Our owner initially created #KansasCityBugs to share her insect photography collection. Now it's evolved into a local community of people sharing their finds, fun facts, and participating in some fun photo competitions! The group has cataloged hundreds of unique species so far.
We value our ecosystem and it's pollinators, and hope this project spreads awareness and increases interest in our local ecology. Insect photography is a great hobby for just about anyone, it's fascinating, affordable, and can be enjoyed nearly anywhere. Come check it out!
